Renovation photography: before, during and after

Real estate photography and visual content for renovation and transformation

It rarely happens that I photograph the same location extensively three times within six months. All the more interesting to explain why that is exactly what happened over the past half year.

The old, temporary, and new situation

Last May, I created an extensive photo report with interactive 360-degree images of an office and training facility in Leusden. The company was still fully operational at the time, which gave the impression an authentic character. After this session, the complex was stripped down entirely in preparation for a complete rebuild. In August, I photographed the exact same spaces again. Apart from the walls and window frames, very little remained the same.

Virtually traveling through time

At the beginning of this month, I returned once more to photograph the complex shortly after its reopening. Everything was completed and neatly finished. With over 15 gigabytes of images from before, during, and after the renovation, I created a virtual tour that allows viewers to travel through time. For each room or space, you can choose: “view before, during, or after the renovation.” Six months of work becomes visible with a single tap or mouse click.

It is an intriguing assignment. Inspired by this project, I am now developing a concept for construction companies involved in the redevelopment of existing real estate.
