For a recent film production, I spent the past month further refining my editing skills in Final Cut Pro X. Following the Skills Heroes professional competitions, a relaxing afternoon program was organized for the finalists in Automotive Technology.
For this production, I filmed in the morning and afternoon at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam. In between, I cycled — while filming — alongside the staff on an electric Gazelle bicycle to RAI Amsterdam to capture footage of the Automotive Technician finalists.
In the morning, employees from car dealerships and garages gathered before heading out together to encourage the Automotive Technician finalists. After the competition, a program took place at the Olympic Stadium featuring various courses and modern technology: the Audi E-tron, Gazelle electric bicycles, SEAT electric scooters, and Segways.
Although I spend much of my time looking through lenses as a photographer, filming and editing are a completely different discipline. I truly enjoyed both capturing this footage and editing it myself. By handling both processes, I learn during editing how I can improve my shots next time.
