Reference and detail photography

of a custom wall unit for an interior builder

For this wall unit, I created detailed photographs for the furniture maker. The cabinet is installed in the living and dining area and sits against the former exterior wall after the home was extended. A dark grey finish with a subtle wood grain was chosen.

Playful layout created by a cleverly positioned wall unit

The wall unit is placed against what was once the exterior wall. It subtly camouflages the transition to the extension, resulting in an interesting and well-balanced layout for the living and dining areas.

Dark finish with visible wood grain

The main challenge in photographing this cabinet was capturing the subtle wood grain. Because of the dark colour, powerful studio flashes were needed to bring out the texture without overpowering the material.

Purpose and function of professional photography

Robin van Hoof creates custom-made furniture designed to last for many years. During initial consultations, he inspires clients with professional photographs of completed projects. In addition, Robin regularly shares selected images on social media and on his website: well worth a visit.
