Neither triangular nor octagonal—seen from above, this penthouse is shaped like a decagon. Working in mitre joints and precise angles required careful craftsmanship. I photographed two floors and the rooftop terrace for reference and marketing purposes.
First, the rooftop terrace. Enjoying spectacular views over the city. Equipped with an outdoor kitchen, a shaded seating area, and an outdoor fireplace, it offers every comfort. The rooftop terrace, designed by ENZO Architecten, is a remarkable achievement in its own right.
The residential tower has a decagonal shape. As a result, the layout and circulation through the penthouse are anything but standard—and just as beautiful. On the sixth floor, you’ll find the living room and kitchen. At the centre of the floor, a fireplace and TV unit divides the living space between the kitchen and the lounge.
The penthouse was fitted with a bespoke kitchen by Heite Interieurbouw, featuring an appliance wall in smoked oak. The smoked oak extends seamlessly across the entire wall, continuing around the corner and incorporating the doors to the utility room, toilet, and meter cupboard.
Outstanding craftsmanship was delivered here by the parties mentioned above, in collaboration with Den Haan Bouw. Renovating a building like this demands precise and meticulous workmanship. This is evident in the way the lines reinforce one another throughout the space. Photographing this project was therefore especially rewarding for me.
