For marketing purposes, I photographed the interior of this commercial unit. The client wanted the workspaces to feel homely and for speech intelligibility to be significantly improved. Ceiling panels, acoustic fabrics, and a new type of wall covering provide a noticeable improvement in acoustics.
In 2021, I already wrote about my earlier collaborations with Bright αw (alpha value). This company measures, analyses, and advises on how speech intelligibility can be optimised in both residential and commercial spaces. Visit the Bright αw website to see how the company has approached various projects and to learn what else it can offer.
When I retouch photos, I know I’ve done a good job if viewers don’t notice that anything has changed. I feel that same kind of subtle appreciation when discovering functional elements within interiors. Artwork on the wall gains a second purpose, and panels used on walls or ceilings not only influence the atmosphere but also improve acoustics. Like retouched photos, these elements often go unnoticed by passers-by—quietly doing their work in the background.
