Corporate film about underwater inspections

Corporate film for Div-ing. de Boer

Under water inspections: how does that work? This film is part of a corporate presentation and offers a behind-the-scenes look. What exactly takes place during such an inspection?

Waterway closure

An inspection in navigable waters requires careful preparation. The dive team can only enter the water once the waterway has been closed to shipping traffic.

Dive team and equipment

For this project, the dive team consisted of a diver, a dive coordinator on shore, and an engineer with technical expertise. This represents the absolute minimum team of three:

• the diver, who carries out underwater inspections and measurements using a diving helmet, camera, lighting, and tools;
• the dive coordinator, who coordinates the dive in consultation with the others, facilitates communication between team members, and assists with entering and exiting the water as well as donning and removing the heavy diving equipment;
• the engineer with technical expertise. During this project, the engineer remained in constant contact with the diver underwater, providing direct guidance during the inspection and verifying and further investigating findings. The engineer also serves as a standby diver in case the diver encounters difficulties underwater. In some cases, the engineer is the diver, with another diver standing by for underwater emergencies.

Challenging: documenting work that largely takes place underwater

Although the core activities of this company are carried out underwater, I was able to capture the footage needed for a strong impression of this project and the work carried out by Div-ing de Boer primarily from the quay walls. I aimed to visualize several key aspects of the company:

• professionalism, with safety as a top priority;
• expertise in identifying structural irregularities and accurately documenting findings;
• a personal and pleasant way of working. The company operates with a relatively small team. Internal communication is positive, and the atmosphere is relaxed while safety is continuously monitored. It’s impressive to see how serious work goes hand in hand with enjoyable collaboration.

The images created are part of a larger production. For now, I have produced an impression film focusing solely on this project in Oudewater. At a later stage, this will be combined with other projects into a complete corporate film. Watch the impression film below.
