Project photography for an oak flooring supplier

An interior photographed efficiently and professionally

I photographed this stylish interior with an oak herringbone floor and an upholstered staircase for Riga Vloeren en Kozijnen. A project where materials and finishes are well balanced, making it especially valuable for marketing content.

My client wanted to use this project for their website, social media, and other marketing purposes. For this, we chose an ultra-compact photo session: a short, focused shoot in which I deliver a strong and immediately usable series of images within a limited timeframe.

These types of sessions are particularly interesting for interior designers, contractors, and suppliers who want to present their projects professionally, without the need for an extensive multi-day shoot.

The project: warm materials, clean lines, and a calm aesthetic

In this residence, the floor forms a clear foundation for the interior. The oak herringbone pattern brings rhythm and character to the space, while the warm wood tones align beautifully with the rest of the interior. The upholstered staircase adds softness and enhances the calm, refined atmosphere.

With projects like this, photography is not just about documenting what has been created. It’s about making the cohesion visible. How patterns interact within the space. How materials complement each other. How finishes, color, and texture come together to form a convincing end result.

That is exactly where the value of strong project photography lies for suppliers: not only showing what has been delivered, but also why the work reflects quality and craftsmanship.

A compact shoot focused on maximum usability

For this assignment, I worked with an ultra-compact session. This means no extensive shooting day, but a short and targeted session where we clearly define in advance what needs to be captured.

This approach is especially suitable for suppliers and interior companies who regularly complete strong projects and want professional content, without photography becoming time-consuming or costly. By working efficiently, the investment remains manageable while maintaining high image quality and usability.

My approach: atmosphere, detail, and commercial usability

In a short project session, focus is essential. I prioritize three elements: overview, material expression, and visual calm. Overview to clearly show the space and application of the floor. Material expression to make wood textures, upholstery, and finishes almost tangible. And calm through strong compositional choices, ensuring the image feels professional and directs attention to the quality of the work.

This combination is important because suppliers often need more than just a few attractive images. They need content that convinces . Visuals that work not only on Instagram, but also on a website, in a portfolio, in a proposal, or in a presentation. That is where the added value of project photography lies for me: creating images that are both aesthetically strong and commercially effective.

Why this approach works well for suppliers

For many suppliers, completed projects are the strongest proof of their craftsmanship. Yet these projects are not always professionally photographed, simply because a full-scale shoot is not necessary or desirable for every project.

An ultra-compact session offers a practical alternative. You document one strong project professionally, with minimal disruption on site and at a lower investment than a full-day shoot. This makes it easier to consistently showcase recent work and keep marketing up to date.

This is particularly relevant for suppliers, contractors, upholsterers, furniture makers, interior designers, and other professionals who need high-quality content, but want to work efficiently. Not bigger than necessary, but professional enough to clearly communicate the level of the project.
