Oak Whiskey Locker in Modern Interior

For a furniture and ship interior builder, I took photos of a Whiskey Locker blended in a modern interior.

Whiskey Lockers

Just like my client, I had never heard of a Whiskey Locker before. This phenomenon originated among whiskey enthusiasts. The idea is that at the club you can store your own bottle of whiskey behind a locked door. The client for this project wanted the entire collection at home under lock and key. Check out more information here about The Flatiron Room where the idea of the Whiskey Locker comes from.

Combination of Challenges: Reflections in Glass Panes and Mixed Light

The challenge while making these project photos lies in the combination of daylight reflecting in the glass panes of the doors with the soft warm light illuminating the bottles behind those panes.

While taking the shots, I've tried to minimize the reflections in the glass panes as much as possible.

By merging photos with different exposure times and flashes from my flash units, I try to warm up the atmosphere of the interior. Read more here about the technique behind merging photos with different exposure times and photos with flash units.
